Member Spotlight - Connor Gallagher


Connor has been a valued member of CrossFit Gunnedah for over 18 months now. Coming in to CFG as a 15 year old looking to gain some strength and fitness, he immediately gained the respect and friendship of all of our members. Juggling school, a job and the busy social life of a now almost 18-year-old, Connor shows commitment and dedication to learning new skills, building strength and being a valued member of the community.


When did you first hear about CrossFit and what was your first experience like at CrossFit Gunnedah/First Workout?

I first heard about CrossFit at school through my PASS teacher Oscar Hunt. During my first visit I was welcomed with a warm heart and very friendly environment.


How many days/week do you CrossFit and what is your normal class time?

I normally go to 5:15pm class on Monday & Wednesday, Stretch with Steph at 6:20pm Wednesday and I also attend the odd Saturday morning class.


What is your favourite thing about CrossFit Gunnedah?

My favourite thing about CrossFit Gunnedah is the warm-hearted community.


If you could describe CrossFit Gunnedah in only 3 words, what would they be?

1. Exciting

2. Family

3. Challenging.


What is your favourite post workout meal?

My favourite post workout meal is bangers and mash.


What do you do for a living?

I am currently undertaking year 12.


What accomplishments are you most proud of (outside or inside of the gym)?

I am most proud of being able to do a kipping ring muscle up.


What is your least favourite CrossFit movement?

Double-dumbbell thrusters.


It might sound funny but CrossFit has made my life easier, here is why…

CrossFit had helped me relieve any stress I attain outside of the gym it has also helped me live a fitter and better life.


What is one goal you would like to accomplish in the next year?

I would like to get a strict ring muscle up.


If you could have any super power what would it be?

If I could have any super power I would be able to become invisible at any time.


Any tips for a newbie?

Start off with a slow pace and don’t burn yourself out at the start.
